Indonesian equities advanced Thursday, with the IDX Composite Index climbing 1.31% at the close of trade in Jakarta. Gains were broad-based, supported by strength across infrastructure, agriculture and basic industry sectors.
Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by 564 to 128, with 135 stocks unchanged. The benchmark index finished higher as crude oil benchmarks and the U.S. dollar index posted modest moves.
Among the top performers, Griptha Putra Persada Tbk PT surged 29.58%, or 21.00 points, to close at 92.00, nearing 52-week highs. Bhineka Inovasi Ketahanan Energi Tbk PT added 25.00%, or 155.00 points, ending at 775.00. Ketrosden Triasmitra PT also rose 25.00%, or 155.00 points, to 775.00 in late trade.
The sharpest declines were seen in Kian Santang Muliatama PT, which fell 14.93%, or 40.00 points, to 228.00. PT Ingria Pratama Capitalindo Tbk dropped 14.73%, or 33.00 points, to 191.00. Sinar Mas Multiartha Tbk declined 8.00%, or 1,600.00 points, to 18,400.00.
Commodities showed mixed performance. October crude oil futures fell 0.69% to $81.66 per barrel, while November Brent crude declined 0.59% to $86.43 per barrel. December gold futures edged up 0.03% to $4,654.84 per troy ounce. The USD/IDR exchange rate strengthened 0.07% to 17,707.90, while AUD/IDR rose 0.40% to 12,732.71. U.S. Dollar Index futures were up 0.03% at 99.12.
