Indonesia’s IDX Composite index closed 1.35% higher on Thursday as gains in infrastructure, finance and agriculture shares offset declines in energy and consumer stocks.
The Jakarta benchmark ended at 7,532.43, with advancing issues totaling 565 against 130 decliners and 132 unchanged. The day’s turnover reached 11.2 trillion rupiah ($740 million), according to exchange data.
Griptha Putra Persada Tbk led advancers with a 28.17% surge to 91 rupiah, marking a fresh 52-week high. Bhineka Inovasi Ketahanan Energi Tbk and Ketrosden Triasmitra each rose 25.00% to 775 rupiah, while Surya Citra Media Tbk added 18.75% to 1,350 rupiah. Among decliners, Kian Santang Muliatama PT fell 14.93% to 228 rupiah and Ingria Pratama Capitalindo Tbk dropped 14.73% to 191 rupiah.
Crude oil futures retreated as October West Texas Intermediate slipped 0.72% to $81.64 per barrel and November Brent crude fell 0.61% to $86.41. December gold futures edged 0.04% higher to $4,655.24 per troy ounce.
The U.S. dollar strengthened 0.35% against the Indonesian rupiah to 17,756.10, while the Australian dollar rose 0.40% to 12,732.71. The ICE U.S. Dollar Index declined 0.03% to 99.12.
The session capped a week in which the IDX Composite had gained 2.89%, extending a broader regional rally driven by improved risk sentiment and firmer commodity prices earlier in the week.
