Swedish industrial and service group Idun Industrier AB reported a 12.7% increase in second-quarter net sales to SEK 668 million, driven primarily by acquisitions completed during the period.
Organic growth remained modest at 0.7%, while earnings before interest, taxes and amortization (EBITA) rose 7.4% to SEK 96 million. Organic EBITA, however, declined 7.7%, reflecting broader economic uncertainty that weighed on performance across several group companies.
The company attributed its overall growth to the acquisitions of AGB and Nordbergs Tekniska, alongside an increased stake in Norotec. EBITDA for the quarter reached SEK 109 million, with operating cash flow totaling SEK 74 million. Idun Industrier also redeemed a SEK 220 million bond during the period, which is expected to reduce annual interest expenses by approximately SEK 8 million over the next 12 months.
Several group entities underperformed due to external factors. LMI and EKAB faced challenges linked to storms and company-specific issues, while broader economic headwinds affected firms exposed to Sweden’s heavy industry sector. Management noted that while some markets show signs of gradual improvement, a clearer economic recovery is not expected until next year.
Looking ahead, Idun Industrier indicated that group companies will need to adapt to ongoing economic uncertainties in the coming months.
