Herbalife Ltd. said its chief executive officer will depart by the end of October 2026, with the company’s chief financial officer taking over in an interim capacity.
Stephan Gratziani will leave his position as CEO on Oct. 31, 2026, after serving in the role since August 2023. The company’s board has formed a committee to oversee the succession process. Gratziani will return to his independent distributorship, which includes nearly 700,000 distributors and preferred members, and will continue with Herbalife as a strategy and business development consultant.
John DeSimone, currently Herbalife’s CFO, will serve as interim CEO starting Nov. 1, 2026. DeSimone has been with the company for nearly two decades, holding senior roles including president, chief strategy officer, special advisor to the CEO, and CFO. Michael O. Johnson, executive chairman of the board, said Gratziani provided leadership that positioned Herbalife for growth in health and wellness and its direct-selling model.
Gratziani, who joined as chief strategy officer under a two-and-a-half-year agreement, cited the company’s return to growth and strengthened foundation as the rationale for the transition. Herbalife operates in more than 90 markets, distributing nutrition products through independent distributors.
