HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc. (NYSE: HASI) has completed a structured equity investment in the Pasco Resource Recovery Center, a wastewater treatment facility in Washington State.
The facility, developed and operated by Burnham, replaces Pasco’s original Process Water Reuse Facility and is supported by a 30-year agreement with the City of Pasco. The center provides wastewater treatment services to seven local industrial food-processing plants and recycles more than one billion gallons of water annually for agricultural irrigation across 1,900 acres owned by the City of Pasco.
The investment underscores HASI’s expansion into sustainable infrastructure, with the company managing over $17 billion in assets across sectors including solar, storage, wind, and energy efficiency. The facility employs anaerobic digestion to process organic matter, generating renewable natural gas as a byproduct alongside nutrient-rich soil amendments.
HASI Co-Chief Investment Officer Annmarie Reynolds said the facility returns clean water for agricultural use, improves local air quality, reduces emissions, and produces renewable natural gas to support decarbonization efforts in the Pasco area.
The investment was finalized in July, with HASI’s corporate offices listed in Annapolis, Maryland, and Arlington, Virginia.
