Shares of Guzman Y Gomez surged 7.8% to A$25.85 on Friday, outpacing a broadly flat Australian market as investors reacted to the company’s full-year results for FY2026.
The Mexican-inspired quick-service restaurant chain reported an underlying net profit after tax of A$53 million, a 30% increase year-over-year. Total network sales rose 18% to A$1.4 billion, while revenue from continuing operations climbed 22% to A$520.4 million. Underlying diluted earnings per share advanced 33.9% to A$0.521.

Operational metrics showed Australian comparable sales growth of 5.3%, driven by higher transaction volumes across all dayparts rather than price increases. Menu price growth remained below 2%, while the network restaurant margin improved to 20.3%. Underlying EBITDA margin expanded to 6.2%, up from 5.7% in FY2025.
The stock’s advance contrasted with the ASX 200 index, which was down 0.1% on the day.
