Bitcoin climbed 10.3% to a record $78,961.40 by 08:58 GMT on Friday, according to the Investing.com Index, marking its largest one-day percentage gain since February 6. The move pushed its seven-day advance to 23.5%, with the cryptocurrency trading between $73,025.40 and $78,969.40 in the past 24 hours.
The total cryptocurrency market capitalization rose to $2.6 trillion, with Bitcoin’s share reaching 59.99% at $1.56 trillion. Its previous peak market cap stood at $2.49 trillion. Trading volume for the largest digital asset reached $61.7 billion, accounting for 43% of the sector’s total turnover.
Ethereum advanced 6.96% to $2,440.67, lifting its market cap to $289.8 billion and representing 11.17% of the crypto market. Tether’s USDT token held steady at $1.0001, with a market cap of $183 billion and a 0.05% daily gain, comprising 7.06% of the sector’s value.
