German healthcare conglomerate Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA raised approximately €300 million by selling 7.8 million shares in its medical care unit, Fresenius Medical Care.
The transaction executed on Thursday generated proceeds that will be used to reduce the group’s net debt, according to a statement. Fresenius said the book gain from the sale is expected to fall in the low to mid double-digit million euro range and will be reflected in its third-quarter 2026 financial results.
The group emphasized that the remaining capital will remain available for future investments, signaling a strategic balance between debt management and growth funding. Fresenius Medical Care operates independently as a leading provider of dialysis products and services globally.
