EOG Resources Names New CFO, Ann Janssen Retires

EOG Resources, Inc. (NYSE: EOG), one of the largest U.S.-based crude oil and natural gas exploration and production companies with significant reserves in the United States and Trinidad, has named Jeffrey W. Hibbard as its new chief financial officer. The transition follows the retirement of Ann D. Janssen, who served as executive vice president and CFO since January 2024 and has been with the company for over 30 years, joining its predecessor in 1995. Janssen’s tenure included a pivotal role in financial discipline and reporting standards, as highlighted by Chairman and CEO Ezra Y. Yacob in a statement: ‘Throughout her career, Ann has led by example, setting the standard for capital discipline, financial integrity, and a rigorous approach to accounting and financial reporting.’ Janssen’s retirement will be effective in 2027, with a period of advisory support before exiting the company permanently. Hibbard, who joined EOG in August 2025 as senior vice president of finance, previously spent over two decades at Morgan Stanley, most recently as a managing director in the firm’s Global Energy Group. His appointment marks his transition from investment banking to a leadership role within EOG’s executive team, where he will assume the role of executive vice president and CFO starting January 1, 2027.
