Alaska Airlines said it will increase seat capacity at Seattle/Everett Paine Field Airport by 50% between this fall and summer 2027, adding routes and raising frequencies across its Puget Sound hub.
A new twice-daily nonstop service to San Jose, California, begins April 14, 2027. The route will be operated by subsidiary Horizon Air on E175 aircraft, connecting the north Puget Sound region with Silicon Valley. Bookings are available at alaskaair.com.
Service to Los Angeles will rise to twice-daily flights on Boeing 737s, while Portland will receive two daily flights. Alaska also confirmed additional capacity on routes to San Diego and San Francisco.
"Paine Field is an important part of our Puget Sound network, giving guests a simpler, more convenient way to access Alaska's West Coast flying," said Andrew Harrison, senior vice president and chief commercial officer at Alaska Airlines.
Brett Smith, CEO of Propeller Airports, which operates Paine Field, said the expansion reflects strong demand for air service from the airport.
Alaska Airlines is a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, which trades on the NYSE under the ticker ALK. The parent company also owns Hawaiian Airlines and operates hubs in Seattle, Honolulu, Portland, Anchorage, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco. The announcement was made Sept. 24, 2026, following a press release issued the previous Thursday.
