Michael Page plc named Paul Harrison its next chairman on Wednesday, with the appointment effective immediately as chair-designate. Harrison, who currently serves as a non-executive director on the company's board, will formally assume the role and begin receiving his chairman's fee of £239,500 annually in 2027.
Outgoing chairman Angela Seymour-Jackson is expected to retire and not stand for re-election at the group's 2027 annual general meeting. The precise timing of the leadership transition was not disclosed.
The selection was conducted by the nomination committee and led by senior independent director Ben Stevens. Harrison brings more than 25 years of public-company board experience, having served as chief financial officer at The Sage Group plc and Just Eat plc, and as chief operating officer at Ascential plc. His non-executive directorships include senior independent director and audit committee chair at Hays plc, and non-executive director and audit committee chair at Darktrace plc.
Upon becoming chairman, Harrison will step down from the company's audit and remuneration committees to comply with the UK Corporate Governance Code. He will chair the nomination committee, which plans to begin recruiting a replacement non-executive director. The board assessed Harrison as an independent non-executive director under the code and expects his independence to be maintained once he takes the chair.
