Devon Energy Corp. has approved construction of a new natural gas pipeline in the Permian Basin, capable of transporting up to 2.25 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/day).
The pipeline, designed to enhance midstream capacity, will connect Devon’s operated wells in the Delaware Basin to existing processing and transmission networks. The project is expected to support long-term production growth and improve gas takeaway constraints in the region.
Devon Energy, an independent oil and gas producer, did not disclose financial terms or a projected completion timeline in its announcement. The company emphasized the pipeline’s role in optimizing operational efficiency and reducing flaring in compliance with regulatory standards.
The Permian Basin remains a key focus for U.S. natural gas supply growth, with multiple midstream operators expanding infrastructure to accommodate rising output. Devon’s latest initiative aligns with broader industry efforts to address transportation bottlenecks amid volatile energy markets.
