Uflex Ltd. on Friday reported a 20% increase in net profit for the first quarter of fiscal 2026, driving a 20% jump in its shares as the flexible packaging manufacturer exceeded market expectations.
The company’s consolidated net profit rose to ₹1.2 billion ($14.4 million) in Q1 2026 from ₹1.0 billion in the same period a year earlier, according to preliminary results. Revenue for the quarter increased 12% year-on-year to ₹3.8 billion, supported by higher demand across domestic and export markets.
Uflex attributed the profit growth to improved operational efficiencies and cost controls, alongside sustained demand for its specialty packaging solutions. The company, which serves industries including food, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods, noted that volume growth in key segments offset margin pressures from rising raw material costs.
Shares of Uflex closed 20% higher at ₹5,200 on the National Stock Exchange, extending gains after the earnings announcement. The stock has outperformed the broader Nifty 50 index by 15% over the past month, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s near-term prospects.
Analysts at domestic brokerage firms pointed to Uflex’s ability to pass through higher input costs as a key factor in its margin resilience. The company’s management is scheduled to hold an earnings call next week to provide further details on segment performance and outlook.
Uflex, headquartered in Noida, operates manufacturing facilities in India, the United States and the Middle East, with a focus on high-barrier and specialty packaging materials.
