Denmark’s benchmark OMX Copenhagen 20 index fell 0.94% at the close of trade on Thursday, as losses in chemicals, healthcare and financials offset gains in other sectors.
Declining stocks outnumbered advancers by 63 to 56, with 20 issues unchanged on the Copenhagen exchange. The index’s retreat reflected broad weakness across key sectors, though a handful of large-cap names bucked the trend.
Vestas Wind Systems A/S led advancers, rising 4.28% to 216.70, its highest close in three years. NKT Holding added 1.42% to 930.00, while Pandora advanced 1.33% to 841.00. The gains came despite the index’s overall decline.
Novo Nordisk Class B led decliners, falling 3.18% to 295.30, followed by DSV Panalpina, which dropped 1.71% to 1,351.50. Carlsberg B slipped 0.92% to 881.60. The declines in these heavyweight components contributed materially to the index’s retreat.
Oil benchmarks edged higher, with October WTI crude up 0.02% at $82.25 per barrel and November Brent crude rising 0.35% to $87.24. December gold futures fell 0.14% to $4,646.76 per troy ounce. The Danish krone held steady against the dollar and euro, with USD/DKK and EUR/DKK little changed at 6.42 and 7.48, respectively.
