Cykel AI PLC said on Monday it has appointed Michael Callas as a non-executive director, effective immediately, as the company refocuses its strategy on its AI agent platform.
Callas, who has over 15 years of experience in fintech, digital banking, telecommunications and applied artificial intelligence, currently serves as CEO and managing director of Fractal Dynamics s.r.o. He also holds directorships at Noveris Health Sciences Inc. and Engrenage s.r.o., and previously held senior roles at Talenthouse AG, Vacuumlabs Group, EY and Vodafone Group. His background includes leadership in mobile financial services, embedded finance and AI-driven solutions.
The appointment follows Cykel AI’s decision to discontinue its cryptocurrency treasury strategy and concentrate resources on developing and commercializing its AI platform. The board reviewed strategic priorities and market conditions before making the change. The company reverted to its original name, Cykel AI, on June 29, 2026, after operating earlier in the year as Defi Development Corporation PLC while pursuing a Solana-focused digital asset treasury strategy alongside its AI platform development.
