Denmark’s benchmark equity index closed higher on Tuesday, with the OMX Copenhagen 20 rising 1.29% to a fresh one-month high.
The advance reflected gains across consumer goods, healthcare and personal and cleaning products sectors. Of the 136 stocks traded on the Copenhagen exchange, 66 rose, 50 declined and 20 were unchanged.
Zealand Pharma led advancers with a 5.66% gain, closing at 326.90 Danish kroner. Genmab followed with a 3.98% rise to 2,196.00 kroner, while energy group Ørsted advanced 3.06% to 139.60 kroner.
Decliners included Novozymes, which fell 1.84% to 448.00 kroner, and AP Moller - Maersk’s A and B shares, which dropped 1.39% and 1.52% respectively to 21,240.00 and 22,090.00 kroner.
Commodity markets showed mixed signals. Crude oil futures for October delivery fell 3.20% to $82.29 per barrel, while Brent crude for November delivery declined 3.15% to $87.69. Gold futures for December delivery were little changed at $4,698.10 per troy ounce. The U.S. Dollar Index rose 0.03% to 98.90, with the USD/DKK and EUR/DKK pairs holding steady at 6.41 and 7.48 respectively.
