Comptoir Group, the UK-based restaurant operator, reported a 0.7% decline in like-for-like revenue for the first half of 2026, reflecting persistent consumer spending pressures amid economic uncertainty and cost of living challenges.
Total revenue for the period amounted to £15.66 million, while gross profit reached £12.81 million. Adjusted EBITDA increased to £0.2 million, supported by ongoing operational controls and cost discipline measures. Despite these efforts, the company’s net loss doubled to £185,000 compared with the prior period.
The group expanded its footprint during the half-year, opening a new franchise location in Rome and signing a franchise agreement for Algeria. However, Middle East operations remained disrupted, with several sites temporarily closed due to regional unrest and only partial recovery observed.
Comptoir Group expects challenging trading conditions to persist through the remainder of 2026 and beyond, prioritizing prudent capital management. The company plans further expansion in its quick service restaurant and franchise segments, with additional site openings scheduled for later in the year and beyond.
