Catella AB reported a 47% year-on-year drop in second-quarter 2026 revenue to SEK 400 million, as the disposal income from Kaktus Towers and CatWave that boosted 2025 figures faded. Underlying net revenue, excluding one-off items, rose 5% to SEK 310 million from SEK 294 million in the same period last year.
The Swedish financial services group posted a net loss of SEK 12 million for the quarter, compared with a SEK 13 million net profit in Q2 2025. Excluding foreign exchange impacts, the underlying net loss narrowed to SEK 27 million from SEK 37 million. Gross profit improved 5% on an underlying basis, while operating expenses declined 6% year-on-year to SEK 20 million.
Catella’s assets under management totaled SEK 161 billion at the end of the quarter, including SEK 5.3 billion in development projects. Trailing 12-month revenue stood at SEK 1.7 billion, with the group employing just under 500 staff across 12 countries. The company’s Investment Management segment saw revenue fall SEK 21 million year-on-year, while Corporate Finance revenue rose SEK 28 million.
Management highlighted cost-saving measures, including the wind-down of Catella’s AFM license in Sweden, which is expected to release SEK 20 million in cash and generate annual savings of SEK 6 million across Sweden and France. The group also reported progress on its SEK 100 million share buyback program, having repurchased more than 250,000 shares at an average price of SEK 20.5, using SEK 52 million of the mandate.
Catella’s shares fell 3.73% to SEK 18.60 following the earnings call, extending declines from a 52-week high of SEK 32.65. The company’s market capitalization stands at approximately SEK 11.89 billion, with average daily trading volume of 10,000 shares.
CEO Rikke Lykke emphasized proactive restructuring to position Catella for recovery, stating the group is focused on building a stronger base of recurring revenue. CFO Gustav Jansson noted the importance of maintaining teams through market downturns to capitalize on future opportunities.
