Boxabl Inc. (NASDAQ: BXBL) has introduced a modular server pod design concept intended for data center applications, unveiled from Las Vegas on August 20, 2026.
The company’s Server Pod concept features factory-built enclosures designed to house AI and cloud computing equipment. Boxabl has not yet begun manufacturing the units, and no products are available for sale. Any future development would require customer agreements, with no guarantee of production.
The proposed configurations include a 10-foot model with space for 8 racks within a 10' x 8.5' footprint, a 20-foot version accommodating 16 racks, and a 40-foot design holding 36 racks. The largest configuration, labeled Server Tron, spans 2,500 square feet. All specifications remain conceptual and would require project-specific engineering in collaboration with potential customers.
The data center industry faces significant growth pressures, with JLL Research projecting a 14% annual expansion through 2030. Approximately 100 GW of new capacity is needed to meet demand, alongside total investments estimated at $3 trillion. Construction costs for data centers have climbed 7% annually since 2020, according to the research.
Paolo Tiramani, Co-CEO of Boxabl, stated that the company aims to address industry challenges by enabling faster construction. "The data center industry needs to build faster than it currently can, and we think our factory can help," he said. "We are not selling Server Pods today—we are inviting companies to bring us their data center problems and partner to design and build a custom solution."
