The biotech company posted second-quarter revenue of $2.74 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $3.60, significantly exceeding consensus forecasts for $2.46 billion in revenue and $2.94 in adjusted EPS, according to Canaccord Genuity. Canaccord estimated a more conservative read-through scenario of $2.40 billion in revenue and $2.68 in adjusted EPS.
Following the results, Guggenheim reiterated a Buy rating with a $280 price target, noting that revenues have stabilized as generic competition challenges have largely been resolved. RBC Capital raised its price target to $260, citing potential from Biogen's lupus drug litifilimab. H.C. Wainwright increased its target to $251 with a Buy rating, also pointing to anticipated trial data for the drug as a major catalyst. Canaccord adjusted its price target to $248 following the quarterly results.
Biogen, which carries a market capitalization of approximately $32.83 billion and trades at a P/E ratio of 39.35, has been selected Veeva Systems' Vault CRM platform for global deployment. The company's litifilimab program, aimed at treating lupus, remains a central focus for investors, with upcoming trial data expected to serve as a key catalyst for valuation rerating.
