Amazon.com has paused its operations with cargo aircraft operator 21Air after a Prime Air flight overrun a runway and crashed upon landing at Miami International Airport last weekend, killing five people and injuring five others.
The incident occurred late Sunday when Prime Air Flight 7598 overran the runway while landing at Miami International Airport and struck multiple vehicles on the ground.
In a blog post Sunday evening, Amazon said it had spent time supporting the investigation and reviewing surrounding circumstances before deciding to pause operations with 21Air. "We'll continue working to support the investigation and everyone affected," the company said.
The crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board. Amazon stated it was gathering details on what happened during the landing.
