BHP Group Ltd’s shares advanced to a 52-week high of $93.83 on Thursday, trading at $94.09, just 1% below the peak. The stock has gained 79.4% over the past year and 55.85% year-to-date, supported by robust financial performance and sustained dividend growth.
The company reported a 30% rise in underlying attributable profit to $13 billion for the fiscal year, alongside a 27% increase in underlying EBITDA to $33 billion. Net debt declined to below $9 billion, while total dividends reached $8.7 billion—the highest payout in four years. BHP also increased its dividend per share by 10%, marking 47 consecutive years of dividend payments.
Barclays upgraded its price target on BHP to GBP 28.25 from GBP 28.00, maintaining an Equalweight rating. The upgrade follows the miner’s EBITDA and earnings per share exceeding consensus estimates by 2% and 4%, respectively. The current dividend yield stands at 3.13%.
