AXG, a global enterprise private infrastructure platform, and Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR) have partnered to offer hosted private infrastructure as a service. The collaboration unites Digital Realty's data center platform, PlatformDigital, with AXG's infrastructure-as-a-service model.
Under the partnership, Digital Realty provides data center space, power, cooling, connectivity, and colocation through its ServiceFabric platform. AXG, on the other hand, delivers and manages the infrastructure deployed within these facilities, including hardware, software, and supporting services. The service operates across 31 markets and countries, spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. AXG operates across more than 50 countries overall, through partnerships with system integrators, managed service providers, and original equipment manufacturers.
The partnership allows system integrators and managed service providers to retain ownership of customer relationships, solution design, and managed services, while AXG and Digital Realty handle the underlying hosting and operational infrastructure. The service operates under a single agreement featuring monthly recurring charges and no upfront capital requirements.
The partnership aims to target private AI infrastructure for training and inference workloads, edge computing services across multiple locations, infrastructure for workloads moving from the public cloud, and hosted infrastructure for AI service providers.
Jules Johnston, Senior Vice President of Channels & Alliances at Digital Realty, stated: "By combining Digital Realty's global, connected, and AI-ready infrastructure platform with AXG's flexible as-a-service model, we are creating a powerful new route to market."
Bo White, CEO of AXG, noted that enterprises and governments are placing greater importance on data residency and architectural choice while expecting the simplicity learned from cloud services.
