Autodesk Inc. is set to release its fiscal second-quarter earnings after Thursday's market close, with Wall Street anticipating another quarter of double-digit growth. Analysts project earnings per share of $3.12 on revenue of $2.01 billion, representing increases of 19.1% and 14.2% respectively from the prior-year period.
The company's shares were trading roughly 23% below their 52-week high of $329.09, though analysts maintain a bullish stance with a median price target of $314.57, implying about 23% upside potential. In the first quarter, Autodesk exceeded expectations, posting adjusted EPS of $2.99 against a consensus forecast of $2.84, while revenue reached $1.93 billion compared to the $1.89 billion estimate.
The earnings report follows Autodesk's announcement of its largest acquisition to date: a $3.6 billion all-cash deal for operations-software provider MaintainX, completed on August 3. Analysts expect the acquisition to influence fiscal 2027 guidance, particularly as the integration may dilute earnings by $0.10 to $0.15 per share, or approximately 1%, in the current fiscal year.
Autodesk has been positioning itself in artificial intelligence-driven solutions, most notably with the introduction of its AI-native Forma platform last fall for architecture, engineering, and construction workflows. The company rebranded its Construction Cloud under the Forma umbrella in March, signaling a strategic shift toward AI-enhanced productivity tools. CEO Andrew Anagnost has emphasized the importance of specialized datasets and contextual expertise in developing agentic AI applications for real-world use cases.
