Arista Networks and Arm led gains among mega-cap stocks on Wednesday, while broader technology shares were mixed as investors parsed earnings and sector outlooks.
Arista Networks rose 4.66%, extending gains after Tuesday’s close, while Arm advanced 2.35%. The gains came as the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.2% in midday trading, reflecting uneven sentiment across large-cap tech.
Among large-caps, Dycom Industries surged 11.01% after reporting quarterly earnings that topped expectations, citing strong demand for infrastructure services. The stock’s move stood out as Snap fell 9.12%, Moderna dropped 8.26% and JinkoSolar declined 11.83% following quarterly results that missed revenue targets.
Mid-cap movers included Abercrombie & Fitch, which jumped 31.59% after reporting stronger-than-expected quarterly results, while Biohaven Pharmaceutical gained 25.38% on positive clinical updates. Generate Biomedicines led decliners in the segment, falling 17.76%.
Small-cap stocks were broadly weaker, with Capricor Therapeutics rising 9.89% but most decliners outweighing advancers. Electromed fell 18.15% despite beating fourth-quarter earnings expectations, while Qifu Technology dropped 18.34% after Morgan Stanley downgraded its rating on sector headwinds.
The session underscored divergent performance within technology and healthcare, with infrastructure-linked names outperforming as investors focused on earnings quality and forward guidance.
