Interactive Brokers Group Inc. shares advanced to a record $97.85 on Tuesday, capping a year of robust gains driven by strong earnings and rising customer activity.
The stock, which traded at $97.79 in late morning activity, remained within 1% of its 52-week high of $97.84. Over the past year, the shares have surged nearly 49%, while year-to-date gains stand at 45%. The six-month increase totals 27%.
The milestone follows second-quarter results that exceeded analyst expectations. Earnings per share came in at $0.69, surpassing the forecasted $0.62 and beating both BMO Capital’s estimate of $0.68 and the consensus expectation of $0.64. Revenue reached $1.88 billion, also exceeding the anticipated $1.76 billion. Growth was attributed to record commissions, higher net interest income, and sustained customer engagement.
BMO Capital responded by raising its price target for Interactive Brokers to $110 from $105, while maintaining an Outperform rating. The upgrade reflects confidence in the company’s ability to sustain momentum amid elevated trading volumes and expanding net interest margins.
Options activity showed a notable skew toward bearish bets, with put volume reaching 21,825 contracts—the highest since October 2025. Call volume totaled 3,504 contracts during the same period, indicating heightened hedging activity despite the stock’s upward trajectory.
