Aon appointed an interim chief financial officer on Friday following the departure of former CFO John Reese, the company announced.
The global insurance broker did not name the interim executive in its statement, citing an ongoing transition period. Aon said it is also conducting a search for a permanent successor to Reese, who left the role earlier this month.
Aon did not provide additional details regarding Reese’s exit or the interim appointment. The company’s shares were unchanged in premarket trading following the announcement.
Reese joined Aon in 2018 and had served as CFO since 2021. His departure follows a period of strategic restructuring at the company, including a $30 billion acquisition of Willis Towers Watson in 2021, which was completed after regulatory scrutiny.
Aon’s board and leadership team are expected to provide further updates as the transition progresses. The company did not specify a timeline for naming a permanent CFO.
