American International Group Inc. named Anthony Vassallo as global head of energy, replacing Warren Meigs, who will retire after more than three decades with the company.
The appointment was announced Wednesday on LinkedIn by Gordon Browne, AIG’s head of specialty, who oversees the insurer’s energy and construction divisions. Vassallo joins from Allianz, where he spent 23 years and most recently served as global head of natural resources.
Meigs, who has led AIG’s energy business for several years, will retire after more than 33 years with the insurer. Prior to AIG, he spent over seven years at Hartford Steam Boiler, according to his LinkedIn profile.
