ARK Investment Management, led by Cathie Wood, executed a series of trades across its exchange-traded funds on Aug. 26, adding to its exposure in Broadcom while reducing holdings in Advanced Micro Devices and other technology stocks.
The firm purchased 57,705 shares of Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO) across multiple ETFs for a total of $20.6 million, continuing a trend of accumulating the chipmaker’s stock observed in the prior week. Concurrently, ARK trimmed its position in AMD (NASDAQ: AMD), selling 37,977 shares worth $18.2 million across four ETFs, following an earlier reduction earlier in the week.
In addition to the Broadcom and AMD adjustments, ARK initiated new positions in two companies. The firm acquired 69,585 shares of semiconductor startup Cerebras Systems (CBRS) for $12.8 million and purchased 47,794 shares of Cloudflare (NET) for $13.3 million. ARK also increased its stake in biotech firm Generate Biomedicines (GENB) by 304,851 shares through the ARKG ETF, allocating $6.2 million to the position.
The reshuffle extended to several other holdings, with ARK reducing or exiting positions in a range of technology and consumer-facing stocks. The firm sold 181,919 shares of Tempus AI (TEM) for $12.5 million, 53,280 shares of Twist Bioscience (TWST) for $8.1 million, and 14,339 shares of CrowdStrike (CRWD) for $2.7 million. Smaller reductions were made in Robinhood (HOOD), Roblox (RBLX), and Brera Holdings (SLMT), with the latter two continuing a pattern of gradual exits over the past week.
ARK’s latest activity follows a pattern of tactical adjustments within its ETF portfolios, reflecting its focus on high-growth technology and biotechnology names. The trades were executed as part of routine portfolio management across ARK’s suite of innovation-focused funds, with no additional commentary provided by the firm on the rationale behind the individual transactions.
