8x8 Inc. said interactions powered by its AI Studio customer-experience platform grew ninefold since the early-access rollout in April 2026, as organizations across more than a dozen industries built and deployed AI agents without requiring specialist expertise.
The Campbell, California-based company, which trades on the NASDAQ under ticker EGHT, said the platform supports GDPR compliance and is HIPAA-ready, operates on a consumption-based pricing model, and remains in early access for 8x8 customers with a free tier for building and testing agents.
New capabilities introduced since launch include unified deployment across voice, SMS, WhatsApp and web widgets, caller history retention, integration with 8x8 Contact Center queues, consolidated invoicing for partners managing multiple accounts, and a shared credit pool for capacity allocation.
Irish utility provider PrepayPower used AI Studio to implement priority call routing and quality scoring on completed calls. Geoff Keenan, Digital Transformation Manager at PrepayPower, said the company started with a single use case and expanded as the solution proved effective.
LSH Auto, a UK luxury automobile dealer group, built an agent to handle reception coverage and customer routing across its locations. Chris Gensmantel, Chief Information Officer, said the agent identifies high-value customers and directs them to the appropriate staff quickly.
PrimeSource, a building products company, deployed an internal IT triage agent that answers employee questions and integrates with its ticketing system. Genelle Chamberlain, IT Manager, said the tool operates across chat, web, email and phone from a single interface.
Irwin Lazar, President at research firm Metrigy, cited company data showing 72% of organizations prefer custom AI agents, adding that 8x8 AI Studio enables anyone to build and deploy such agents through natural language conversation.
