IHS Holding profit misses estimates as revenue rises

Telecom infrastructure provider IHS Holding Ltd. posted adjusted earnings per share of $0.71 for the quarter, missing analyst estimates by $0.19, according to data compiled by Investing.com.

Revenue for the period totaled $324.7 million, exceeding the $318.2 million consensus forecast. The company attributed the earnings shortfall to higher operating costs and currency headwinds, while revenue growth was driven by expansion in key African markets.

IHS Holding operates a portfolio of approximately 39,000 telecom towers across 11 African countries, serving major mobile network operators. The company has cited rising demand for data services as a key driver of its infrastructure expansion.

Analysts noted that while revenue growth remains robust, margin pressures from inflation and currency volatility could weigh on profitability in the near term. Shares of IHS Holding were indicated 2.1% lower in pre-market trading following the results.

The earnings report follows the company's recent refinancing efforts aimed at extending debt maturities and reducing interest costs amid a higher-rate environment.
