MoneyGram Ramps integrates Solana for crypto cash conversions

MoneyGram’s Ramps service has added support for Solana wallets and applications, enabling users to convert cryptocurrency holdings into cash through the company’s global network. The integration marks the first deployment of the service with a Solana-based wallet, with Rift identified as the initial partner.

The Ramps platform, designed to bridge digital assets and traditional finance, allows users to deposit cryptocurrency and withdraw funds in local currencies at MoneyGram’s 470,000 agent locations worldwide. Solana’s inclusion expands the service’s accessibility to users of the high-performance blockchain, which has gained traction in decentralized finance and payments.

MoneyGram’s move follows earlier expansions of Ramps to Ethereum and Polygon, signaling a broader strategy to support multiple blockchain ecosystems. The company has not disclosed additional wallet integrations beyond Rift but emphasized the service’s role in providing fiat liquidity for crypto holders.

The initiative aligns with growing demand for seamless crypto-to-cash conversions, particularly in regions where traditional banking infrastructure remains limited. MoneyGram’s global footprint positions it as a key player in facilitating such transitions, bridging the gap between digital and fiat financial systems.
