Kalpataru Projects Q1 FY27 profit up 46% on margin expansion
Indian infrastructure firm posts quarterly net profit of ₹2.1 billion, citing higher operational efficiency and cost control. Shares rise on strong earnings beat.

Kalpataru Projects International Ltd reported a 46% year-over-year increase in net profit for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, driven by margin expansion and operational efficiency gains.
The company’s net profit rose to ₹2.1 billion ($25.4 million) from ₹1.43 billion in the same period a year earlier, according to preliminary financial results shared in a stock exchange filing. Revenue for the quarter increased 22% to ₹6.8 billion, supported by strong execution across infrastructure and power transmission projects.
Management attributed the profit surge to improved project margins, tighter cost controls, and higher asset utilization. The company also highlighted progress in key contracts, including ongoing work on transmission lines and substations, which contributed to the revenue growth.
Shares of Kalpataru Projects closed 3.2% higher on the Bombay Stock Exchange following the earnings announcement, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s operational performance. The stock has gained 18% over the past six months, outperforming the broader infrastructure sector.
Analysts noted that the margin expansion underscores the company’s ability to navigate input cost pressures while maintaining project execution timelines. The results follow a period of heightened competition in India’s infrastructure sector, where firms have faced rising material and labor costs.
Kalpataru Projects operates primarily in the power transmission and distribution segment, with a growing presence in renewable energy infrastructure. The company has a pipeline of projects valued at over ₹300 billion, including contracts under India’s National Infrastructure Pipeline.
Final audited results for Q1 FY27 are expected to be released in August, pending regulatory approvals.
