Invenergy and HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital form equity partnership for 2.7 GW renewables

Invenergy and HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital (NYSE:HASI) announced a strategic equity partnership covering a 2.7‑gigawatt portfolio of renewable energy projects. The portfolio includes ten utility‑scale assets—solar, solar‑plus‑battery storage and wind—spanning six major U.S. power markets in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Indiana, Ohio and New York.

More than 850 MW of the capacity is already in commercial operation, and the remaining projects are slated to come online by the first quarter of 2027. HASI will provide funding for each project as it reaches commercial operation, while Invenergy will retain control, majority ownership and day‑to‑day operational responsibility.

All facilities are backed by long‑term contracts with investment‑grade off‑takers, including corporate, utility and public‑sector entities. Invenergy describes itself as North America’s largest privately held developer, owner and operator of independent power infrastructure. HASI manages over $17 billion in sustainable‑infrastructure assets.

CIBC Capital Markets acted as advisor to Invenergy. Sidley Austin LLP served as legal counsel to Invenergy, and Baker McKenzie represented HASI. Invenergy’s EVP and CFO Meghan Schultz said the deal underscores the company’s execution capabilities and enables capital recycling for long‑term growth. HASI’s chief client officer Susan Nickey said the partnership pairs Invenergy’s development expertise with HASI’s long‑term capital solutions to support U.S. energy infrastructure.
