Dyadic reports Q2 loss as commercialization costs weigh

Dyadic International Inc. reported a second-quarter loss on Tuesday, reflecting elevated costs associated with its commercialization initiatives despite progress in scaling enzyme production.

The Florida-based biotech company posted a net loss of $2.1 million for the three months ended June 30, compared with a $1.3 million loss in the same period last year. Revenue declined to $1.2 million from $1.5 million a year earlier, as higher commercialization expenses offset gains from partnerships and licensing agreements.

Management cited increased spending on manufacturing infrastructure and regulatory compliance as key drivers of the wider loss. Dyadic has been expanding its enzyme production capabilities to support applications in industries including animal health, agriculture and industrial bioprocessing.

The company said it remains on track to meet commercial milestones, including agreements with partners in the animal nutrition and textile sectors. Dyadic added that it expects continued investment in production capacity to support long-term growth, though near-term profitability may remain under pressure.

Shares of Dyadic were down 3.2% in after-hours trading following the release.
