BioLineRx Ltd. and Hemispherian AS will present preclinical data for GLIX1 at the 21st Meeting of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology (EANO), held September 24–27 in Rome. The oral presentation, titled ‘GLIX1, a TET2 activator targeting the DNA damage response: Potent anti-tumor activity across multiple orthotopic glioblastoma models’, will take place on Friday, September 25, from 6:00–6:30 PM CEST. GLIX1 is an oral TET2 activator designed to target the DNA damage response in glioblastoma and other solid tumors, developed by BioLineRx under a collaboration with Oslo-based Hemispherian AS. Dr. Adam Robertson, Chief Scientific Officer of Hemispherian, will lead the presentation.
In preclinical studies, GLIX1 demonstrated dose-dependent tumor growth inhibition and survival benefits in two orthotopic glioblastoma xenograft models. Brain exposure for GLIX1 reached 68–85% of plasma levels in mice. Dosing ranged from 75 mg/kg once daily to 1000 mg/kg twice daily.
The data will also inform the design of an ongoing Phase 1/2a clinical trial, an open-label, multicenter study using a BOIN (Bland–Owen–Inverarity) dose-escalation design. The trial will enroll up to 30 patients with WHO grade 3/4 glioma who have received no more than two prior therapy lines. Primary endpoints include safety, tolerability, and the maximum tolerated dose. Patient recruitment is underway at four U.S. academic institutions.
