Surf Air Mobility Inc. (NYSE: SRFM) announced the appointment of Barrett Brown as president of SurfOS, effective Sept. 30.
Brown brings more than a decade of enterprise software experience from Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR), where he worked from 2013 to 2024. He served as head of Asia starting in 2018, overseeing business strategy and operations across the region, after joining the company as a Forward Deployed Engineer in New York.
Prior to Palantir, Brown held vice president and head of APAC roles at Maxar Technologies. He also joined the advisory board of Turion Space in 2024.
SurfOS is an AI-enabled software operating system developed with Palantir Technologies. Under Brown's leadership, the company will accelerate commercialization, strategy and expansion of the platform. The product suite includes BrokerOS, OperatorOS and OwnerOS. Definitive agreements have already been signed with external customers for both BrokerOS and OperatorOS.
"I spent my career at Palantir scaling enterprise software into new markets, and I'm looking forward to repeating that success at SurfOS as we build a massive business," Brown said.
Surf Air Mobility, based in Los Angeles, operates one of the largest commuter airlines in the United States by scheduled departures, provides private charter services and develops technology for air operations modernization.
