Evolv Technology Q2 earnings beat lifts shares 3%, guidance raised

Evolv Technology Inc. posted second-quarter earnings that surpassed market estimates, driving a 3% increase in its share price on Tuesday. The security screening company also raised its full-year guidance, reflecting stronger-than-anticipated demand for its solutions.

The company, which provides artificial intelligence-powered threat detection systems, reported adjusted earnings per share of 5 cents, beating the 3 cents forecast by Refinitiv. Revenue for the quarter totaled $23.4 million, exceeding the $22.1 million consensus estimate.

Evolv attributed the outperformance to robust demand from government and commercial clients, particularly in sectors prioritizing public safety and infrastructure security. The company’s updated guidance now projects full-year revenue between $95 million and $100 million, up from its prior range of $90 million to $95 million. Adjusted EBITDA is expected to land between $10 million and $12 million, compared with the previous forecast of $8 million to $10 million.

Shares of Evolv Technology rose 3.1% to $2.95 in midday trading, extending gains from the previous session. The stock has gained roughly 15% over the past month, outperforming the broader market amid growing investor confidence in the company’s growth trajectory.

Analysts at Wedbush maintained a neutral rating on the stock but acknowledged the positive momentum, citing Evolv’s expanding pipeline of government contracts as a key driver. The company’s technology is deployed in airports, government buildings, and critical infrastructure sites across North America.

Evolv Technology’s ability to exceed expectations comes amid a broader rebound in the security and defense sector, where spending on advanced surveillance and screening solutions has accelerated. The company’s focus on AI-driven threat detection aligns with increased federal and private-sector investments in safety infrastructure.
