CALGARY — Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Thursday that he has spoken with U.S. President Donald Trump “a couple of times” recently, discussing the war in Ukraine and developments related to the Iran conflict.
Carney offered no further detail on the substance of the conversations with Trump. He said the discussions reflected what he described as a shared obligation, noting, “part of our responsibility is to work together.”
The comments come as Canada navigates a deepening trade dispute with the United States, raising the stakes for diplomatic coordination on security matters between the two allies.
