Zurich Insurance has appointed Liz Padley as its new Group Treasurer, effective August 2026, according to sources cited by finews.ch.
Padley, previously Head of Capital and Leverage Management at Barclays in London, replaces Smriti Dahiya, who held the Group Treasury and Capital Management role since 2022. Her responsibilities at Barclays included overseeing capital management for the bank’s Corporate and Investment Banking division.
With over two decades in financial services, Padley’s career spans banking and consulting roles across major institutions. Before joining Barclays, she spent more than seven years at Lloyds Banking Group in London, where she served as Head of Capital and Recovery and Resolution. During her tenure at Lloyds, she was also a member of the Group Treasury Leadership Team and held treasury roles for Scottish Widows Group, LBG Equity Investments, and LBG Holding Company. Additionally, she served as Managing Director for Capital and Term Funding.
Prior to Lloyds, Padley worked as a Senior Manager in Risk Consulting at PwC and as a Senior Manager for Financial Services at Deloitte in Leeds. She began her career as an Equity Derivatives Trader at Goldman Sachs, where she worked for five years.
In a LinkedIn post announcing her appointment, Padley stated, 'Today begins a new chapter as Group Treasurer at Zurich Insurance! Thank you to Zurich for the warm welcome and to everyone who supported me over the past months.'
