Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) announced that José-Manuel Pombo Lanz will assume the role of head of marketing and communications effective 1 January 2027. He replaces Jan‑Hendrik Völker‑Albert, who left the bank at the end of June.
Pombo Lanz brings more than two decades of experience in banking marketing and communications. Since May 2023 he has served as head of marketing for LGT Group, overseeing the firm’s global brand and marketing strategy. Prior to LGT, he spent nearly four years leading marketing and communications for Pictet in Geneva, focusing on the wealth‑management division.
Earlier in his career, Pombo Lanz spent 15 years at UBS, including a stint as head of marketing for Europe and emerging markets from 2014 to 2019 and various senior communications roles at group level from 2004 to 2014. He holds a Master of Science in Management from the University of Lausanne and a second MSc in Wealth Management from the Rochester‑Bern Executive Program.
ZKB chief executive Urs Baumann said the appointment adds a seasoned specialist to the bank’s leadership team, highlighting Pombo Lanz’s breadth of experience across Swiss and international banks.
