XRP climbed 13% to $1.378 on Friday, testing its daily resistance pivot as optimism grew over U.S. regulatory clarity for the token. The move follows former President Donald Trump’s call for Congress to pass a revised version of the Clarity Act, which would delineate oversight roles between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
The legislation aims to resolve longstanding ambiguity around the classification of digital assets, a key overhang for XRP since the SEC filed suit against Ripple in 2020. The token’s recent performance has outpaced major peers, with Bitcoin and Ethereum up 7.7% and 5.0%, respectively, while Solana gained 5.72%.
Technical levels for XRP now show immediate resistance at $1.488, followed by a breakout target of $1.633. Support is seen at $1.233, with a deeper floor at $1.123. Analysts note the daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 82.9—deeply overbought—and warn of a potential retracement toward the $1.23 pivot if momentum stalls.
Over the past week, XRP has surged 37.7%, trimming its year-to-date decline to 25.3%. Its 52-week range spans $0.9884 to $3.1853, placing the current price roughly 43% from its yearly high. The weekly timeframe remains neutral, with the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) still in negative territory, signaling the uptrend may lack broader confirmation.
Broader market sentiment improved alongside XRP’s rally, with Metaplanet and Boyaa Interactive gaining 20% and 17%, respectively. Bitcoin’s advance to $77,173—its highest since late May—further supported risk appetite in digital assets.
