Wurl, a Palo Alto–based connected TV ad exchange and subsidiary of AppLovin Corporation (NASDAQ: APP), has launched a Content Intelligence Platform that injects contextually enriched streaming signals into programmatic buy paths ahead of bid requests.
The platform partners with KERV for object-level recognition, Peer39 for pre-bid contextual and fraud signals, and Viant's IRIS.TV. Integrations have been built into Yahoo DSP, StackAdapt, and Viant, applying the enriched signals via oRTB before bids reach demand-side platforms.
Wurl said it serves more than 140 billion monthly signal-rich CTV impressions across the ad-supported streaming ecosystem and is ranked among the top 10 CTV exchanges by Jounce Media with Bellwether status.
"Advanced contextual targeting already exists. What's been missing in CTV is the footprint to make it truly impactful," said Ria Madrid, Wurl's vice president of global advertising.
Greg Joseph, StackAdapt's VP of inventory development, said the integration brings enhanced contextual signals to the platform, giving buyers information about the content surrounding each impression.
Industry friction around CTV data was underscored by an AdExchanger survey in which 79% of respondents cited data-quality inefficiencies, fragmentation and interoperability as limiting factors for streaming-TV campaigns.
Wurl announced the platform on Tuesday.
