Enterprise software maker Workday announced that Sarah Kennedy Ellis will join as chief marketing officer, effective Oct. 5, 2026.
Ellis will lead the company’s global marketing and communications organization and will report to co-founder and CEO Aneel Bhusri.
Prior to Workday, Ellis spent several years at Google, where she led global marketing for Google Cloud and Google Workspace. She also served as CMO at Marketo and Adobe Experience Cloud, and was with the company during Marketo’s acquisition by Adobe in 2018.
Bhusri said in a statement: "I couldn't be more excited to welcome Sarah to the Workday leadership team. She's driven growth at scale for some of the biggest technology companies in the world, and has spent the last decade at the center of enterprise AI."
Workday, headquartered in Pleasanton, Calif., provides software for human resources, finance, and IT functions. More than 11,500 organizations worldwide use its platform, and over 65% of the Fortune 500 are customers.
