A women’s professional basketball league has secured $650 million in Series C funding at a $650 million valuation, exceeding its initial $100 million target and marking a more than 90% increase from its $340 million valuation in September 2025.
Ten Pillars Sports Fund, backed by UC Investments, led the oversubscribed round, with participation from investors including Jenny Just, Carmelo Anthony, Geno Auriemma, Bessemer Venture Partners, Ashton Kutcher, Alex Morgan, and Trae Young. The league’s player equity pool, valued at nearly $200 million, has grown more than 550% since the league’s 2023 inception by founders Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart.
The funding round follows the league’s expansion to eight clubs and 54 players ahead of schedule, with records set for ticketing, merchandise sales, social media engagement, and attendance during its second season. The league also achieved the highest-attended regular-season professional women’s basketball game and the highest-attended event ever at Philadelphia’s Xfinity Mobile Arena.
The third season is scheduled to tip off in January 2027, with games broadcast nationally on TNT Sports. The league offers players equity alongside competitive salaries and benefits, positioning it as a high-growth venture in professional sports.
