Vishay Intertechnology’s stock advanced 3.3% on Thursday after the company unveiled a 17-device flyback transformer series designed for power applications.
The Vishay Dale IFBT series comprises customizable, surface-mount units tailored for flyback converter topologies. The devices operate within an input voltage range of 26 V to 72 V at 250 kHz, offering 1,500 VRMS isolation for 60 seconds between primary and secondary windings. Output voltages span 1.8 V to 24 V, with output currents ranging from 0.5 A to 9.0 A. Inductance values are specified between 35.0 µH and 75.0 µH, and the operating temperature range extends from -40 °C to +125 °C.
The transformers are engineered to support flyback designs for 6 W and 30 W Power over Ethernet systems, as well as isolated DC/DC converters up to 30 W. Vishay stated the series is available in production quantities with lead times of 10 to 12 weeks. The components are RoHS-compliant.
Target applications include automotive lighting LED driver transformers, energy generation and distribution systems, industrial automation drives, home and building controls, consumer electronics, telecom equipment and medical instrumentation. The series features multiple windings for series and parallel configurations to accommodate varied voltage and current requirements. Vishay also noted an open construction design that allows winding modifications to meet specific customer specifications.
