Visa has extended its partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) through a multi-year renewal, marking the company's 30th anniversary as a festival sponsor in 2027. The agreement continues Visa's cardholder benefits, including early ticket access, priority lines, and lounges at screening venues. The Visa Sharing the Screen program will distribute 500 complimentary tickets this September and host a talk featuring director Rebeca Huntt and soccer player Megan Rapinoe.
The Toronto International Film Festival, which has been operating for 51 years, has seen significant economic growth during its events. In 2025, local small business spending increased by 10% year-over-year in the festival zone, while foreign visitor spending rose by 15%. Foreign visitor spending represented 20% of local commerce during the event, and the number of small businesses in the festival area expanded by 30% since 2022.
Michiel Wielhouwer, President and Country Manager of Visa Canada, stated, "For nearly three decades, Visa has been proud to partner with TIFF, one of the world's most influential film festivals." Cameron Bailey, CEO of TIFF, added that Visa's support helps create experiences that bring audiences closer to films and artists.
