Vienna Insurance Group reported a 21% year-over-year increase in first-half pretax profit to €641.5 million, driven by gains from capital investments and lower claims. Insurance service revenue rose 7.1% to €6.8 billion, supported by expansion in core Central and Eastern European markets.
The insurer’s net combined ratio improved to 91.40%, while its solvency ratio stood at 272%. The company completed the acquisition of NÜRNBERGER during the period, its largest transaction to date, which will be included in consolidated financial statements for the first time in 2026.
Vienna Insurance maintained its full-year 2026 pretax profit outlook of €1.25 billion to €1.30 billion, excluding contributions from NÜRNBERGER. The insurer is also advancing an IT transformation initiative at NÜRNBERGER aimed at enhancing product and service offerings.
