The New Haven-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company’s stock touched an intraday low of $93.81 after opening at $101.70, compared with Monday’s close of $102.82. Shares remain well below the 52-week high of $131.24.
Chief Executive Officer Reid Alexander Waldman sold 67,500 shares on August 17 under a pre-arranged Rule 10b5-1 plan, reducing his direct stake by approximately 28%. Director-linked entities associated with John W. Childs disposed of 100,000 shares on August 12, while Montanova Capital LLC, another director-affiliated entity, sold 750,000 shares on August 19, trimming its position by nearly 62%.
The company reported a net loss of $23.5 million for the second quarter of 2026, compared with a $15.6 million loss in the same period a year earlier. Earlier this month, Veradermics registered 16.77 million additional shares for potential sale, a move aimed at raising near-term capital.
Veradermics’ lead asset, VDPHL01, is an oral non-hormonal treatment for pattern hair loss, with a focus on female pattern hair loss. The company is awaiting results from the Phase 2/3 Study ‘306’ readout for VDPHL01 as a key near-term catalyst.
Analysts at Citi and Jefferies maintain positive ratings on the stock, with price targets above current levels. The broader market showed modest declines, with the S&P 500 down 0.1% and the NASDAQ slipping 0.3% on the day.
