Velo3D Inc. (NASDAQ: VELO) announced that it has become a participating member of the Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP), the company said.
Headquartered in Fremont, California, Velo3D manufactures metal components for U.S. defense applications using its Sapphire family of metal additive manufacturing systems and Rapid Production Solutions. Its integrated technology platform also includes Flow print preparation software and the Assure quality control system.
GIDEP is a cooperative information-sharing initiative between the U.S. government and industry that gives participating organizations access to technical, quality, reliability, and supply-chain data to help identify potential issues, reduce risk, and improve product performance for government and defense programs.
"Trust and reliability are essential when producing parts for mission-critical defense applications," Arun Jeldi, chief executive of Velo3D, said in a statement. "GIDEP gives Velo3D access to critical information shared across government and industry, complementing the quality and risk-management processes that support our defense manufacturing activities."
